2010 Audit Reveals Serious Problems with Worth Township Finances

The State of Michigan requires local governments to operate transparently and file annual audit reports to the Treasury Department. Extremely grave concerns are voiced by the township's own auditors about :

  • The lack of internal controls,

  • Governance matters and the lack of expertise of current officials

  • A general fund deficit of about a million dollars

  • Improper documentation

  • Budget violations

  • Nearly two million dollars of material misstatements

  • The ability of Worth Township to survive as a going concern
