Bartniczak's Legacy in Office

These two shocking but objective documents speak for themselves. Click on the hyperlinks to read both the forensic audit summary from Yeo & Yeo, and new Worth Township Clerk Robin Milewski's detailed report of how Marcy Bartniczak left the clerk's office in a total state of disarray.

Have you ever seen a more flagrant example of a public official failing to carry out the duties of their office? Don't forget that ex-trustee Sharon Patton was paid extra to work as Marcy's deputy! Doesn't Patton bear joint culpability for what has gone on in the clerk's office?

The sad thing for Worth taxpayers is, as the auditors conclude:
"...we found obvious disorganization and indications of incompetency. There were boxes of documents and files from the clerk's office that had no logic for how they were filed, no labels, and there were missing files and documents. The clerk's office and files were clearly disorganized and the township suffered because of that. Please note that disorganized records are a warning sign for fraud and embezzlement..."

In view of recent Worth Township events, the sidebar quote from President Martin Van Buren about the power of the people to deal with unworthy public officials seems very prophetic. Were Van Buren alive today, I'm sure he would have amended it to be gender neutral and would have stated something like
"... the most honest and best of all powers- which will not tolerate an incompetent or unworthy woman or man to hold in their weak or wicked hands the lives and fortunes of their fellow citizens."

Thank goodness the Worth Township voters recognized and used this power to effect change for the better in the township clerk's office!
