Trustees Patton & McKay Resign in Face of Successful Recall Election!

Voters who removed Marcy Bartniczak from office received an unexpected bonus from their recall efforts. After the May 3rd recall succeeded, Trustees Leon McKay and Sharon Patton submitted their letters of resignation to the Township. Apparently the loud message that voters sent at the polls about their intent to hold their public officials accountable was received by these two.

Trustee Leon McKay walked away from his office without ever returning to a township meeting to apologize for the outrageous behavior that citizens witnessed in March, when he self admittedly was under the influence of some substance when he physically threatened a former township supervisor, repeatedly interrupted his peers on the board, and insulted audience members. Trustee and Assistant Clerk Sharon Patton stormed out of the April board meeting when a former board official proffered his observation that the township would be no better off should she assume the clerk's job after the recall of Marcy Bartniczak. It did not take long for her to jump ship after the citizens did recall her boss, ex-Clerk Bartniczak. You can read
