The Demand for a Forensic Audit

Former Township Supervisor Jon Rundels has been a staunch and vocal advocate for fiscal responsibility in local government. Meeting after meeting, I have seen his inquiries about what the current account and fund balances are met with blank stares from the whole panel of township officials sitting up on their podium. Check out the Worth Board Duties page, and you can see how Clerk Bartniczak handled his written requests for such information. The letter that Mr. Rundels and other former township officials have sent to the board demanding a forensic audit speaks for itself. When officials can't come within a million bucks of telling the taxpayers how big the sewer bill is, and when the annual report from their own auditing firm is replete with criticisms of how township finances are handled is there really any better way to clear the air and restore the citizen's confidence in our local government?

Why a Recall?

If anybody wants more information on the numerous issues behind the campaign to recall Clerk Marcella Bartniczak, this detailed letter that recall promoter Douglas Varty submitted to various local papers will provide you with the justifications for his efforts. Thanks to Doug for sharing his detailed letter. I think this is a good source to refer anyone who has questions about why nearly 700 Worth Township voters came out and signed the recall petitions.

The Paeth Case: Thoughts from Maplewood Neighbors

The following thought provoking posting was sent in by Dennis and Jim Collins, who reside on Maplewood, site of the Paeth home where the infamous stop work order was posted at Clerk Bartniczak's direction. Thanks to the Collins brothers for bringing a different aspect of this fiasco to light.
